Pumpkin Painting Activity 

10/22/2015

This activity was hosted at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy. Leah Bohatch, Art Club Treasurer, instructed the art club members in a pumkin painting activity. The students were asked to bring in pumpkins and decorate them for the Halloween season. Then, the pumpkins were brought to the Lotus House Shelter to decorate the homes of comunity members. 

Halloween Arts and Crafts 

10/28/2015​

This activity took place at Lotus House Shelter and involved a group of 30 women and children. Leah Bohatch and Claudia Pichardo hosted the event. They brought the pumpkins decorated by the art club and Halloween crafts. They worked with the children, providing them with help, and ended the day with Halloween treats. 

Bake Sales 

3/17-18/2016

These events took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and were hosted by the Art Club. Through the food donations of students, the club raised over $200. The proceeds were used to purchase supplies for the upcoming art therapy class on 4/9/2016 and other upcoming classes. 

Painting Art Class

4/9/2016 

This event took place at Lotus House Shelter. Marcy Grosso, local artist,  instructed the women and children of Lotus House in a painting class. Leah Bohatch,Claudia Pichardo, and other teenage volunteers helped the children sketch their images of choice. Then, helped them paint. The day ended with treats and finished paintings. 

Bake Sales 

4/28-29/2016

These events took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and were hosted by the Art Club. Through the sweet donations of students, the club was able to raise over $100 for MACO. The proceeds were used to purchase crafts for the upcomnig summer crafts activity for the children of Lotus House Shelter held on 7/30/2016.  

Painting Art Class and Crafts 

7/30/2016

This event was held at Lotus House Shelter. The art painting class consisted of a group of about 10 children and a small crowd of adults. They were instructed by local artist, Marcy Gross, with the assistance of volunteers. The younger children were led in arts and crafts activities by Leah Bohatch, Claudia Pichardo, and teengae volunteers. In total, around 50 crafts were used by the large group of participants. The afternoon was a fun-filled experience for the community of Lotus House Shelter.

Halloween Arts and Crafts

This event took place at Lotus House Shelter. The young residents created in arts and crafts activities led by Leah Bohatch, Claudia Pichardo, and other young volunteers. The group painted haunted houses,Halloween masks, and completed various other crafts. The day ended with handfuls of candy and smiling faces.

11/10/2016

This event took place at Lotus House Shelter. The young residents were instructed how to paint various images: houses, flowers, bears, and even horses! The activity was led  by Leah Bohatch, Claudia Pichardo, and other young volunteers. The small group of participants created over 20 pieces of art  work!

4/8/2017

This event took place at Lotus House Shelter. The young residents were instructed how to paint various images on wooden frames to be given to their mothers. Some mothers even joined in to paint frames of their own for their loved ones. The activity was led  by Leah Bohatch, Claudia Pichardo, and other young volunteers. This activity took place for about 2 hours. 

Painting Art Class

5/20/17

This event took place at Florida Baptist Children's Home. The young residents were instructed how to paint various in this relaxing activity. They were taught how to paint images of their own choice, ranging from butterflies to Spiderman.  The activity was led  by Leah Bohatch and Claudia Pichardo. This activity took place for about 2 hours. 

Halloween Pumpkin Painting Event 

10/28/17

This event took place at Florida Baptist Children's Home. A group of children of various ages were brought 15 donated pumpkins by Leah Bohatch, Claudia Pichardo, and other young volunteers. The group painted their pumpkins in anticipation of Halloween and the volunteers assisted them in creating their designs. After 2 hours, candy was passed out to celebrate Halloween. 

Painting Class at Jackson Memorial Hospital 

4/6/18

This was held at Jackson Memorial Hospital with the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care, PPEC. This is a facility that cares for and educates children with special medical needs. Leah Bohatch visited the group of 15 young students to help them discover their artistic ability and build confidence in the world of art. The project included frame painting for the youngest children and a recreation of Hokusai's famous wave works for the older children.

Painting Activity at Jackson Memorial Hospital 

8/13/18

This activity took place at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care, PPEC. Leah Bohatch visited a group of eight children to bring them a creative activity. They were instructed to trace their first initials onto a blank canvas. Then, they decorated the canvases with painted designs and stickers. The group varied in ages three to five. We hope to visit the children again and continue growing their artistic skills.
